What are you up to this weekend? Friends are coming over to eat pizza and watch the movie Decision to Leave, which looks great. Also, the boys have gotten into into playing charades with modeling clay, where you make different shapes for people to identify, like hot dog or bike or hammock. Hope you have a good one, and here are a few links from around the web…

Found! The coziest cabin.

Funny one-sentence book review.

The best article I’ve read about Harry and Will’s alleged tussle: “[The fight] seemingly escalated violently after Harry accused William of acting like an heir: the chosen one, around whom everything else seemingly revolves. There isn’t a sibling alive who won’t, on some level, recognise that feeling… What siblings crave above all else is fairness – or perhaps more accurately, the sense that the other one isn’t too far ahead in the eternal and terrifying war for their parents’ attention. It is a catastrophic thing, for a child to feel the lesser loved, and the scars run deep. For the sake of spares everywhere, I hope Harry finds the peace he so clearly seeks.”

How beautiful is this robe?

Never not loving the stick-of-butter look.

Explanations I have given my son for where the moms are in Disney movies,” including that “Elsa and Anna’s mom and dad went on a trip on a nice, safe boat. They had so much fun splashing in the waves on their boat that they decided to go scuba diving! Since Elsa and Anna are too little to go scuba diving they have to wait until they grow up in order to join them on the scuba trip. Because they are magic, it only took them a three-minute song to grow up! When the movie is over (90 minutes), they go find their parents and everyone has a great time scuba diving together. They even eat French fries for dinner because it’s vacation!”

Lasagna soup, yum.

The movie trailer for ‘One Fine Morning’ looks compelling.

In 2023, let’s all embrace our inner bookshop grandpa.

Plus, four reader comments:

Says Rose on three questions: “My mom knew someone once with two cats named Gossip and Rumor. How amazing is that?” Adds Jessica: “I know the laziest dog named Rowdy.”

Says Kelly on what’s the most helpful thing a therapist has ever told you: “The English language has us saying, ‘I am angry,’ making it sound like that is our identity or personality. In other languages, like Spanish, the translation is ‘I have anger,’ which is more accurate and reminds us that the feeling can be current but not a part of us.”

Says Kelsey on what inexpensive things make your life easier: “1. The Ove Glove. Five finger dexterity + bonus points for being hilarious. I don’t know how anyone who spends time in the kitchen goes without them.
2. Each kid gets one color/style of sock. Kid 1 = all white, kid 2 = all grey. Mom = never sorting socks again.”
