0

I spent 6-weeks in Vietnam’s biggest city as a digital nomad and was spoilt for choice when it came to great locations to work from. If you’re looking for the best coworking spaces in Ho Chi Minh, you’re in the right place!

From dedicated coworking setups to ideal cafes aiming to attract the digital nomad crowd, HCMC has plenty to offer anyone who works remotely. You’ll find a range of coworking options to suit all budgets and requirements in Ho Chi Minh.

So, if you’re seeking a quiet space to catch up on a few emails or a month-long desk of your own, rest assured I’ve got it all covered here.

Best Coworking Spaces in Ho Chi Minh

I loved my time coworking in Ho Chi Minh. There’s an abundant digital nomad culture and a significant ex-pat scene. I found it to be an ideal location for remote workers and took full advantage of the many cool coworking spots in the city. It’s always great to get a change of scenery and if there’s free coffee on tap, even better!

Let’s explore the 10 best coworking spaces in Ho Chi Minh.

1. GEEK Hub (D1)

meeting room coworking space

One of the biggest benefits of being a digital nomad in Ho Chi Minh is the cost of coworking spaces. They’re significantly lower than in lots of other countries I’ve worked from. GEEK Hub is a fine example of a coworking space that doesn’t break the bank and offers everything you could need for a productive day.

I visited here a few times because there weren’t any monthly fees or a significant commitment required. You can buy a 4-hour package and be up and running straight away. It’s a bright, comfortable, and convenient coworking space.

Ideally located in the heart of D1, GEEK Hub also has a second very similar base in the Phu Nhuan District, west of the city. They have fully equipped meeting rooms to accommodate up to 12 people and event facilities for up to 70 people.

Address: Nguyen Dinh Chieu: 27B/9 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, D1

Membership Options and Costs

A 4-hour hot desk session costs as little as $1 which can be renewed on expiry. If you’re in town for a while, consider a hot desk package for $17/week which includes unlimited usage and free drinks from the cafe.

If you’re staying in the city for longer, a dedicated desk for a month starts at $77. You can even bag your own private office for $277/month. For meeting rooms and event spaces, contact GEEK Hub directly for a quote.

Amenities at GEEK Hub

printing facilites
  • Varying Options: From 4-hour hot-desk deals to month-long dedicated offices and event spaces.
  • Fully Equipped: Comfortable desks and space for up to 50 coworkers at a time. Great WiFi and printing/scanning facilities are available to everyone.
  • Onsite Cafe: The GEEK Hub cafeteria serves a range of excellent drinks and a few snack options at low prices.

Pros of GEEK Hub

  • Price: Short-term hot desk options are available for under $1. Longer packages and dedicated workspaces are also available at very competitive rates.
  • Onsite Cafe: It’s always great to have a ready supply of caffeine nearby. Some of the extended packages even throw in complimentary drinks.
  • Ideal Location: Situated in the heart of D1, GEEK Hub is surrounded by all the delights of a big city.

Cons of GEEK Hub

  • 4-Hour Cut Off: If you’re hot desking on the 4-hour package you’ll be cut off at 4 hours. You can immediately renew but this can be annoying if you’re on a roll with something or in the middle of a Zoom call.
  • No Parking: There aren’t any facilities on site for parking bikes or cars. Customers will need to find their own parking facilities.
  • Space: GEEK Hub is on the smaller side but with enough hot-desk space for 50 people at a time, it’s rarely an issue.
  • Limited Food Options: The onsite cafe doesn’t serve any lunch options – you can order food in or venture out easily enough.

2. WinPlace (D1)

remote work laptop coworking space

I’m always interested in where my fellow digital nomads find a base. WinPlace is a name that crops up a lot. It’s a popular coworking space in Ho Chi Minh with several options to suit those seeking a more fixed working location.

With a great city center location in D1 and a second site with a pool in D7, WinPlace is ideal for business professionals. If you’re in search of a personal workspace in Ho Chi Minh City, a conference room for your team, or a business lounge, look no further.

Address: 45 Vo Thi Sau Street, Da Kao Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City

Membership Options and Costs

WinPlace has a couple of different membership packages to suit certain working requirements. A private workstation costs $174/month although you may be tempted to upgrade to an entire office – at $292/month it’s a great deal. Conference and meeting facilities are available by the hour for around $12.

  • No Cafe Onsite: Although the use of a shared kitchen is available, there aren’t any cafeteria facilities at either site.
  • Meeting Room Limits: A set number of meeting room hours are included with each membership. You’ll need to purchase more if you need them.

3. Hello World Saigon (D1)

outdoor pool

I spent quite a few days working from Hello World Saigon and there’s a lot to like about this place.

It’s one of the most unique coworking spaces in Ho Chi Minh. As well as coworking facilities, the complex features a hotel, serviced apartments, a yoga studio, a pool, and an excellent restaurant. There’s also a networking and social events space that longer-term members have free access to.

Even day pass members get many inclusive benefits. It’s a cool, modern coworking space that’s a popular spot for individuals and small groups.

Address: 92A Nguyen Huu Canh St., Ward 22, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City

Membership Options and Costs

A day pass costs less than $8 and includes free tea and coffee, business hour access, and a mail-handling service. Signing up for the week costs just $30. Private offices and dedicated desk spaces are available by the month and start from around $200, (contact Hello World Saigon directly for pricing).

  • Additional Facilities: Hello World Saigon features a pool, yoga studio, restaurant, and accommodation options onsite. A one-stop shop for any business professional.
  • Kitchen Facilities: A shared kitchen is available to everyone and includes free tea and coffee.

Pros of Hello World Saigon

  • Impressive Common Areas: The modern and well-designed common spaces are great areas for rejuvenating between bouts of work and networking with other digital nomads.
  • Short-Term Options: The ability to simply purchase a day pass means no long-term commitment for those traveling through HCMC.
  • Personal Touches: Members opting for a fixed desk for a longer period are encouraged to make themselves at home with photos, plants, and any personal items to make your desk more fun.

Cons of Hello World Saigon

  • Day Pass Restrictions: Those staying for just the day will be limited to business hour access and won’t have access to all additional facilities.
  • No Free Use of Meeting Rooms: Though fully equipped meeting rooms are available, anyone wanting to use them must obtain a quote directly and book ahead of time.
  • No Cafe: Although a nice restaurant is available, Hello World Saigon doesn’t have a cafe which means making your own coffee.

4. The Hive (D1 and D2)

rooftop cafe coworking space

One of the best workspaces in Ho Chi Minh is The Hive. The international organization with 23 branches in 6 countries has a knack for creating environments that people simply love working in.

The Hive has 3 locations in HCMC, and what I love is their attention to creating serene spaces like chilled rooftop terraces and tranquil gardens. The Villa Saigon branch in D2 has a beautiful pool that’s accessible to all guests.

As a well-established global brand in the coworking market, everything you could need is to hand. A range of membership options are available from single-day use to long-term office space rental.

Address:
District 1: 26 Huynh Khuong Ninh, Da Kao, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
D2: Thao Dien: 94 Xuan Thuy, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City 713385
Villa Saigon: 29 Nguyễn Bá Lan Street, Thao Dien Ward, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City

Membership Options and Costs

Hot-desking is available for less than $8 a day. For this, expect a comfortable workspace, great WiFi, free coffee, and business hour access. Sign up for a minimum month, and enjoy round-the-clock access along with printing privileges and meeting room credits.

Personal office spaces and dedicated desks require at least a month-long commitment and prices start at $135 but include mailbox facilities, printer usage, 24/7 access, and meeting rooms.

Amenities at The Hive

printing documents coworking space
  • Printing and Meeting Room Facilities: Though not included with day passes, printing, and meeting rooms are available.
  • Community Events: The Hive hosts regular social and networking events for its members.
  • Serene Spaces: Two of the HCMC locations have wonderful rooftop gardens, while the Villa Saigon location has a serene garden and pool.

Pros of The Hive

  • Experience: The Hive has branches in 6 different countries so are coworking space experts!
  • Free Coffee: Everyone from day pass members on up receive an unlimited amount of free coffee at all Hive branches.
  • Discounted Rates: If you’re a young entrepreneur or budding start-up, speak directly to The Hive about discounted prices.

Cons of The Hive

  • Noise: During busy times it can get quite loud in the D1 coworking space. Day pass members are situated in somewhat of a communal area/walkway.
  • Limited Facilities: Day pass members will need to pay extra to buy credits for meeting rooms and printer usage.
  • No Cafe: There isn’t an onsite cafe onsite at any of The Hive’s 3 HCMC branches. Free ‘make your own’ coffee is available to everyone though.

5. Highlands Coffee @ Landmark 81 (Binh Thanh)

landmark 81 vietnam

I’m going to throw a wildcard in at number 5 and suggest a Highlands Coffee location as one of the best free coworking spaces in Ho Chi Minh. Highlands Coffee is the biggest chain of coffee stores in Vietnam and the location at Landmark 81 is such a great spot to work from.

Landmark 81 is the 2nd tallest building in Southeast Asia, (18th in the world) and although the coffee shop is on the ground floor, it’s still very cool to be working from such an iconic structure.

Highlands Coffee consistently has reliable, free WiFi, quality coffee, and plenty of spaces to situate for a spot of work. After you’ve completed your tasks for the day, I recommend a trip to the Blank Lounge on the 76th floor.

Address: Vinhomes Central Park, Bình Thạnh, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Membership Options and Costs

A cup of coffee will cost a little over $1, and soft drinks are even cheaper. WiFi is free and plenty of tables have access to power sockets.

Amenities at Highlands Coffee

vietnam sandwich
  • Free WiFi: Efficient and reliable WiFi is available to all customers.
  • Food Options: Highlands Coffee offers a selection of excellent sandwiches, cakes, and snack choices.
  • Power Sockets: If you’re rocking a super old laptop like me, power sockets are available close to many tables.

Pros of Highlands Coffee

  • Availability: Although I favored the Landmark 81 location, Highlands stores are all over HCMC.
  • Free Working Space: Okay, so you should probably buy a coffee, but for around $1 it’s as good as free.
  • Great Coffee Options: Highlands is a big chain akin to Starbucks so if you drink specialty coffee or concoctions of your own creation they’ll be able to make it for you.

Cons of Highlands Coffee

  • Limited Facilities: As it’s a coffee shop and not an official coworking space there aren’t any printers, scanners, or private meeting rooms.
  • Busy Environment: Highlands is a popular coffee shop that at times can become very busy. Don’t bank on it being quiet.
  • Unable to Reserve Tables: Although I’ve seen the occasional reserved sign on a Highlands table, it’s generally for larger groups.
  • Limited WiFi: I never had issues with basic emails and such. But, for larger projects or those needing a secure network, a public coffee shop’s internet is probably best avoided.

6. Work Not Work (Binh Thanh)

graffiti art

I’m all about the work/life balance; it’s a big part of why I choose to be a digital nomad. Work Not Work is an excellent option for anyone else with this same frame of mind. It’s a modern and cool place that has a strong emphasis on art and culture which is designed to inspire a healthy working environment.

I loved their open-air rooftop terrace with fantastic graffiti-laden walls. There’s also an excellent canteen that serves a whole range of food and beverage options.

Day passes are available, and there are some great deals on weekly hot-desking. Additionally, Work Not Work provides several excellent, practical, and handy services.

Address: 236/43/2 Dien Bien Phu Street, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City

Membership Options and Costs

A daily membership costing less than $7 buys a comfortable and bright working environment for the day. Paying by the week will bring the hot-desking price down to $6/day. Private offices and dedicated desks can also be rented by the month, desks start at $130, and office spaces at $500.

Amenities at Work Not Work

remote working
  • Storage and Locker Facilities: If you’re carrying a lot of work baggage with you, Work Not Work has storage options to deal with everything from documents to furniture.
  • Excellent Cafeteria: The onsite cafe serves a range of good quality healthy food choices for reasonable prices throughout the working week.
  • Conference and Meeting Facilities: Bookable by the hour for competitive rates that depend on your group size.

Pros of Work Not Work

  • Rooftop Terrace: The views of the Saigon skyline from the roof are excellent and all guests can work from there.
  • Cheap Day Rate: The prices are competitive if you need a one-day working option. It’s even cheaper if you book the entire week.
  • Great Location: Located in the Bhanh Thanh area of HCMC, this coworking space is right in the heart of the city’s business district.
  • Good Food: The onsite cafe doesn’t serve just the standard burger and fries. Healthy food options are readily available.

Cons of Work Not Work

  • No Free Coffee: Making your own free coffee is not always possible despite evidence suggesting otherwise on their website. Food and drinks can be purchased from the cafe, however.
  • Space: Work Not Work is not the biggest coworking environment and spaces can be limited during busy periods. A lot of the areas advertised are for monthly renters.
  • No Extras Included: Printing and meeting room credits aren’t included with hot desking customers. These need to be pre-agreed and pre-paid for.

7. XÓM (D1)

coworking space

Perhaps the most popular coworking space in Ho Chi Minh City is XÓM. It’s a cool and friendly coworking facility that embodies the spirit of the digital nomad culture.

XÓM offers a full range of amenities and is welcoming of single-day users. The rates are pretty reasonable for the level of service and comfort that’s offered. There are also discounts available by paying weekly and monthly.

What’s most unique about XÓM as a coworking space is the cocktail bar. It’s not free; you will need to pay for drinks, but you can get a sense of the vibe by the bar’s neon signs – one says ‘Stop Thinking, Start Drinking’. It’s my kind of place!

Address: 20 Tran Cao Van, Da Kao Ward, D1, HCMC

Membership Options and Costs

XÓM offers a range of membership options at very affordable rates. A desk is just $9/day but you’ll save money by paying $38 for the week. A dedicated desk costs less than $240/month. A plush lobby, pantry, cocktail bar, and free coffee are available to all customers.

Amenities at XÓM

cocktail bar
  • Excellent WiFi: Connections so fast that XÓM’s website describes it as ‘super duper’.
  • Meeting Rooms: Fully equipped meeting rooms are available to book for up to 15 people.
  • Event Space: An excellent space with enough room to host 60 people. There’s plenty of parking for everyone too.

Pros of XÓM

  • Discounts: Paying weekly or monthly for hot desking will save money. All members get discounts on XÓM’s in-house food and beverages.
  • Free Stuff: Free coffee and a regular supply of fresh water is available to all users.
  • Parking: XÓM has a huge parking lot, so there’s no stress for anyone if you plan a meeting or event.
  • Clean: The cleaners seem to be constantly at work. It’s one of the best-maintained coworking spaces I’ve visited.

Cons of XÓM

  • Price: It’s not the cheapest coworking space in HCMC, but paying weekly will bring the price down.
  • Additional Costs: Meeting rooms, printing facilities, and the event space aren’t included with hot desking memberships.

8. Designers Hub Coworking (D7)

office plants

Designer Hub Coworking, nestled in Ho Chi Minh City’s bustling D7 region, caters exclusively to minds in architectural and art design. Located within the dynamic C Space Building, a hub for construction, Designer Hub is purposefully designed and integrated with utilities tailored for design, architectural, and art projects.

If you’re in the architectural sector, this is the best coworking spot in Ho Chi Minh for you. But, with day rates available for digital nomads from any walk of life, it’s a great space to get work done, no matter your niche.

Address: 3rd floor, C space building, 12-13 N1 Street, Nam Commercial Area, Tan Thuan Dong Ward, District 7

Membership Options and Costs

Daily hot desks are available for under $7, but you can save a few bucks by paying by the week. A personal dedicated desk isn’t a bad deal either at $140/month. A spacious and very comfortable working space plus a pantry, access to a modern meeting room, and printing facilities are available with any membership.

Amenities at Designer Hub

office chairs coworking space
  • Printing Area: A dedicated and efficient space for any printing needs.
  • Spacious and Comfortable Environment: A 500m2 area of hot desks with ergonomic office chairs and well-thought-out lighting.
  • Telephone Booths: Designated booths for private phone calls or online meetings.

Pros of Designer Hub

  • Pantry: Access to fresh water, coffee, and tea-making facilities are available to everyone.
  • Parking: Secure and free parking is available onsite.
  • Sleek Environment: Without a doubt, Designer Hub is one of the classier places to remote work from.
  • Library: There is a comfortable lounge and reading area with many books in English – a great bonus in HCMC.

Cons of Designer Hub

  • Lighting: Although I’ve included this as a pro, it can be quite a dark setting which may not be everyone’s preferred working environment.
  • No Cafe: There isn’t a cafe which means that there are no food options available onsite.
  • Limited Extras: Hot desk members will need to pay for extras such as printing facilities and meeting rooms.

9. WorkFlow (D2)

barista

It’s not the most famous coworking space in Ho Chi Minh but WorkFlow is certainly one of the most convenient. It’s the only place I’ve come across in HCMC that has an app where individual work pods can be booked by the hour. You can even order your coffee from the app so it’s ready for when you arrive!

WorkFlow is based in D2, so it’s outside of the main city center. Xuan Thuy is close by which is a street full of great bars and restaurants.

Address: 39 Nguyen Duy Hieu, Thao Dien Ward, Thu Duc, HCMC

Membership Options and Costs

Single pods can be booked for $1.80/hour and double pods are less than $1.50pp/hour. For this, you’ll get a private, soundproofed, lockable pod, an international plug socket, a high-speed WiFi connection, an ergonomic chair, and discounts on drinks. Meeting rooms for up to 6 people are around $8/hour.

Amenities at WorkFlow

private office remote working
  • Privacy: Enjoy the peace and quiet of your own soundproofed and lockable work pod.
  • High-Speed Internet: Work away to your heart’s content without WiFi issues.
  • Comfort: An ergonomic chair, air filtration, and a ventilation system means all pods are very comfortable to work in.

Pros of WorkFlow

  • Ease: Book work pods from an app. Secure your spot, pay, and even order your coffee remotely.
  • Flexibility: Secure pods by the hour, add more time if you need and never pay for more than you use.
  • Location: WorkFlow is located outside of the city center but is very close to the excellent Xuan Thuy area in D2.
  • Discounts: Pod bookings come with discounts in the WorkFlow cafe.

Cons of WorkFlow

  • Space: The pods aren’t huge. If you like to spread out, consider a more open-plan coworking space.
  • Price: Being able to book by the hour is great, but an 8-hour day will make it one of the more expensive coworking spaces in HCMC for daily members.
  • No Freebies: There are discounts available for those who book pods but there aren’t any free coffee-making facilities.

10. Bibli Library Cafe (D1)

library cafe

Bibli Library Café combines two of my loves; coffee and books, and it also has an excellent designated quiet area for reading and working.

The coffee and food options here are decent and fairly priced. The cafe is well maintained with a cozy decor and is airconditioned. The upstairs provides the feeling of working from a traditional library – it’s without a doubt, one of my favorite places to spend an afternoon.

The WiFi is reliable, desk spaces are free to anyone who purchases a drink, and it’s situated just a block and a half from the beautiful Saigon River.

Address: 42/5 Ho Hao Hon Street, Co Giang Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City

Membership Options and Costs

As it’s a public cafe, there aren’t any membership options. But a coffee costs around $1.50 and will secure you WiFi access and a desk for as long as you want it.

Amenities at Bibli Library Cafe

coffee and laptop
  • Good Coffee: Coffee is a big deal in Vietnam and Bibli Library Cafe serves a great selection of local and international coffees.
  • Ample Spacing: There are many tables and comfy seating areas for customers to enjoy.

Pros of Bibli Library Cafe

  • Low Cost: Being a cafe, you’re not required to pay for a desk space; simply grab a drink and find somewhere to base yourself.
  • Free WiFi: Good and reliable WiFi is available to all customers.
  • Food Options: On top of the unending supply of coffee, there are some great breakfast, brunch, and lunch options on the menu.

Cons of Bibli Library Cafe

  • No Additional Facilities: As it’s a cafe, there aren’t any printing, scanning, or meeting room facilities available.
  • Busy and Noisy: It’s a public cafe so there aren’t any guarantees on the volume level if you work downstairs. Upstairs is a designated quiet area, but it is not overly enforced.
  • No Reservations: It’s not possible to reserve a desk.
  • Limited WiFi: Although the WiFi is good, it is a public connection and as such is probably not suited to downloading/uploading large files or for anyone who requires a secure internet connection.
