15 Best Bars in Liverpool (Cool Places to Drink)

0

Liverpool is one of my favorite cities in England for nightlife. From rooftop views to quirky cocktail menus, the best bars in Liverpool all serve up something different, and each makes for a great night out in Liverpool.

You’ll find that the city center is the main hub for the most popular bars in Liverpool. However, you can venture further afield to find neighboring boroughs and still find a buzzy time!

I lived in Liverpool for several years, and my family still lives there now. I regularly visit the city with friends too, so I’ve come to gather a list of fun bars in Liverpool. There’s always a place to try each time I visit.

Best Bars in Liverpool

I visit Liverpool at least once a month nowadays, though I spent plenty of time testing out bars in the city in my university days (for research purposes, of course). You’ll find that there’s a bar for you no matter what time of night it is, your taste in music, or your favorite cocktail flavor.

I’ve compiled this list based on the bar’s atmosphere, location, and standout features. Here are my top picks for the best bars in Liverpool:

1. Berry & Rye
(Best Bar in Liverpool Overall)

Professional bar equipment, shaker, glass and tongs arranged on the bar counter.

Berry & Rye is one of the best cocktail bars in Liverpool. Cozy, ambient, and decorated with a charming speakeasy-esque aesthetic, this bar should be your go-to for specialty cocktails and great service.

Knowledgeable mixologists are on hand to mix up a cocktail of your preference, or you can opt for one of their menu items. My best friend swears by their Rum Old Fashioned and says it’s the best she’s ever had! Note that this bar is more about live music than pumping super-loud tunes, but it has a lovely atmosphere and serves excellent drinks.

This rooftop haunt is situated within 30 James Street Hotel, and from the terrace, you can look out to see Albert Dock, The Strand, and the Three Graces from a different perspective. This spot is among the best rooftop bars in Liverpool and is particularly pretty during the summer months when you can enjoy warmer evenings on the outdoor patio.
