Best Gifts for Kids: Holiday Gift Guide 2022

0

I’m really embracing the less is more approach when it comes to gifts for our kids this year. I’ve noticed over the years that the gifts they enjoy most are ones that spark a sense of curiosity and invite imagination. For this reason, I love gifts for kids that encourage pretend play. I also love those that are functional for everyday life, like a personal lunchbox picked just for them.

Today I’m sharing fourteen gifts for kids, in a variety of categories and price points.

Stay tuned for more of my hand-picked holiday gift ideas in the coming days! You can also visit The Complete Wit & Delight 2022 Holiday Gift Guide page, where I’m saving all of our guides as they become available.

01

Sculpd Candle Making Kit

$50

I’m buying this kit for my own kids! They are very into projects, specifically ones that involve “throwing” clay. I love that this will allow them to make something that can be used every day and that the kids can proudly display on the coffee table. The end result would also be a nice gift for the kids to give too.

02

Best Choice Products 4-in-1 Multi Game Table

$90

This game table is a great space-saving set that the whole family can enjoy.

03

Old Navy Printed Pajama Set

$30

We give pajamas to our kids every year and look forward to finding a great print. This pajama set is so cute and affordable.

04

IJO 4-Pack LED Light Airplane Toys

$22

These toy airplanes seem simple compared to all the new toys on the market but they have given my kids hours upon hours of entertainment.

05

Great Pretenders Storybook Lion Cape

$40

This cape would make a great addition to any dress-up collection and would be used for years to come.

06

Tender Leaf Toys Dollhouse Living Room Furniture Set

$55

Dollhouses are one of those toys that have a long lifespan for kids who are into them. Collecting items for rooms over time instead of furnishing them all at once teaches so many good lessons! This living room set would be a great place to start.

07

Force1 Scoot Hand-Operated Drone

$25

This is a super simple drone that you operate by hand. It would make a great gift for a kid who’s not ready for a remote-operated option quite yet. Our kids have this and love it.

08

Calpak Hue Mini Carry-On Luggage

$165

Our kids will be taking a couple of big kid trips this year and we’ve decided that luggage will be their “big” gift from mom and dad!

09

Fat Brain Toys SmartLab Ultimate Secret Formula Lab

$37

This lab set would make a great gift that both parent and kid can enjoy together.

10

Stomp Rocket The Original Jr. Glow Rocket Launcher, 4-Pack

$15

These toys provide endless hours of fun (and are approved by a parent whose kids have a few already!).

11

VTech Kidizoom Creator Cam

$25

I got this camera for August last year and it has easily been one of the things he plays with the most. He started to express interest in capturing moments thanks to this gift!

12

Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth by Oliver Jeffers

$15

A beautiful book about taking care of our beautiful planet. It would be great for kids who are expressing an interest in space!

13

Crate & Barrel Colorblock Navy and Ochre Soft Insulated Lunchbox

$26

Personalized items are a big hit with my kids! I love the fun colors these lunchboxes come in.

14

Little Pretender Walkie Talkies for Kids

$27

Another item on my list of ideas for our (almost) five-year-old and six-year-old kids!
