Remember this wonderfully delicious, juicy Grilled Jalapeño Cilantro Chicken recipe that I posted a couple of weeks ago? Whether you’ve made it yet or it’s still on your summer dinner list, it’s time to chat about the incredible marinade, sauce, dip, drizzle situation that goes with it.

This cilantro yogurt sauce is so freakin’ good that it deserves its very own post. Creamy, spicy, fresh, savory, and the perfect complement to pretty much any dish you can think of. Abra, Rebecca and I tested it with a brand new recipe a few weeks back (that may or may not be hitting the blog this week) and we kept dreaming up more amazing ways to use this sauce.

Tacos, enchiladas, nachos, rice bowls, veggies, your favorite proteins — you name it, this sauce should 100% be involved.

Bonus? It couldn’t be easier to make, all you need is a blender or food processor. Check out all of our fav ways to use it below and let me know in the comments what you added it to!

Ingredients in this cilantro yogurt sauce

This easy cilantro yogurt sauce uses super simple ingredients: just some fresh produce, yogurt and seasonings! It’s SO easy to make and will seriously be your new go-to whenever you need a quick, delicious sauce. Here’s everything you’ll need:

  • Produce: we’re adding fresh cilantro, a jalapeño, garlic, and some fresh lime juice to the sauce.
  • Yogurt: the base is made from plain greek yogurt. Feel free to use a plain, dairy free yogurt if you’d like!
  • Oil: you’ll also want to add a bit of olive oil or avocado oil to help give the sauce a creamy consistency and to give it a little boost of healthy fats.
  • Sweetener: add a little bit of sugar or coconut sugar to balance the acidity of the yogurt and lime juice.
  • Seasonings: you’ll just need some salt and pepper to bring out all of the flavors!

Choose your spice level

If you love spicy foods like I do, keep the seeds in the jalapeño when you blend it in with the sauce. If you’re sensitive to spice (or are sharing with someone who is) I recommend removing the seeds from the jalapeño.
