Ranji Trophy Quarterfinals 2022 Squads

Quarterfinal 1 Bengal vs Jharkhand LIVE: The only team to win all three games in Elite Group B to qualify for the knockouts was Jharkhand. They will play Bengal who is set to be without Mohammed Shami.

Shami may be given rest as he is in squad for one-off Test against England in July.

With Wriddhiman Saha departing due to his differences with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), expect young Abhishek Porel, a member of U19 World Cup winning squad, to be given chance in the knockouts.

Quarterfinal 2 Mumbai vs Uttarakhand

Mumbai will be without Shivam Dube and Ajinkya Rahane due to injuries. But one would still expect the 41-time champions to get the better of Uttarakhand. The Prithvi Shaw-led side showed some glimpses of the typical never-say-die Mumbai attitude in the group stage. With the bat, Sarfaraz Khan has been their run machine, slamming 551 runs in four innings at an average of 137. 75.

Quarterfinal 3 Karnataka vs Uttar Pradesh

Though retirements of R Vinay Kumar and Abhimanyu Mithun and with Prasidh Krishna missing the quarterfinal because of Edgbaston Test coming up, Karnataka’s fast bowling attack will be lightweight despite being headed

by Ronit More, who has 31 first-class appearances. Their strength lies in their batting, boosted by Mayank Agarwal. He will be helped by Devdutt Padikkal, Karun Nair and Manish Pandey in the batting apart from spinners K Gowtham, J Suchith and Shreyas Gopal.

Quarterfinal 4 Punjab vs Madhya Pradesh

Punjab have a good blend of youth and experience. Mandeep Singh, Gurkeerat Singh and Siddarth Kaul have been around for long while Abhishek Sharma, Ramandeep Singh, Anmol Malhotra, Anmolpreet Singh and Prabhsimran Singh have been in great nick during the tournament. Their batting looks solid with the inclusion of Shubman Gill. Madhya Pradesh, on the other side, can’t be taken lightly. Rajat Patidar and Kumar Kartikeya Singh are coming into the tournament after breakout IPL 2022.
