After Ronaldo exchanges the ball with Mata and then sets his team-mate up inside the box with an elaborate back-flick, the Spanish midfielder skews his shot wide of the right post with his weaker foot. It was a lovely move, though.
Elanga goes down in a heap following a challenge by Norgaard in midfield, and United have a free-kick which disrupts Brentford’s attacking rhythm.
Following an earlier claim by Elanga for a free-kick just outside the area, now Ronaldo has a penalty appeal rejected by the referee.
After an elaborate build-up, Ronaldo fires in a low free-kick from around 30 yards out on the left, which Raya saves at the second attempt near the bottom-right corner of his goal.
JUST OVER! Evading Varane with a precision cross from the left, Eriksen finds the head of Toney, who is only able to turn the ball over the bar with his effort from near the penalty spot.
With the ball threatening to drop under his crossbar from an overhit Ajer cross, De Gea tips the ball behind for another Brentford corner at full stretch.
A slip in the area from Ronaldo, after he had chested down a high throughball from Dalot, denies the United striker a chance to get a shot off at goal from no more than 10 yards out.
Straight from a direct ball into the box by Eriksen, Telles is forced to cover frantically and clear the ball away from the lurking Mbeumo; conceding an early corner.

Man United will again be without the services of Edinson Cavani, Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba, Harry Maguire and Mason Greenwood for Monday’s clash with Brentford.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Fred and Jesse Lingard could all be back in the squad, but Jadon Sancho is facing a battle to return before the end of the campaign due to tonsillitis.
Alejandro Garnacho made his debut for the Red Devils against Chelsea and will hope to be involved once again, and it would not be a surprise too see the same starting XI from the clash with the Blues.
Fred, who has recently been out with a hip problem, might make his return off the bench, while Marcus Rashford is potentially under threat from Juan Mata, but it could be a case of same again from Rangnick.

Christian Norgaard and Kristoffer Ajer should be available for selection at Old Trafford.
Ethan Pinnock, Sergi Canos, Frank Onyeka and Saman Ghoddos are out, though, while Mathias Jorgensen will be absent for the remainder of the campaign due to a groin issue.
Christian Eriksen has been in excellent form for Brentford in the second half of the season and will again feature in central midfield, while Ivan Toney, who has 12 league goals this term, will be joined by Bryan Mbeumo in attack.
