- Iga Swiatek is having a dream run this year as she is on a incredible 21-match unbeaten streak in the WTA tour this year.
- Her run began in the Qatar Open in February, where she bagged the title after defeating Anna Kontaveit 6-2,6-0 in the final.
- She then won the Indian Wells Masters by defeating Maria Sakkari in the summit clash and also took the Miami Open title with a 6-4, 6-0 victory against Naomi Osaka.
- At Stuttgart, which is her first clay court tournament this season, she has continued her form as she stormed past Eva Lys and reigning US Open Champion Emma Raducanu in straight sets.
- The only big challenge she faced in the tournament was in the semifinal, with Samsanova fighting hard till the end and Swiatek had to keep her cool to clinch a 6-7, 4-6, 7-5 win.

- Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka is entering her first-ever final this year after some good performances on clay.
- She didn’t had a great season before Stuttgart on clay courts this year. Her best was a quarter-final appearance at Qatar.
- She has entered her first-ever semifinal in 2022 at Stuttgart. She has also faced four first round exits this year and looks to turn around her season on clay.
- Being the third seed at Stuttgart, she defeated Bianca Andreescu in three sets in the first round, before winning against Anna Kontaveit.
- In the semifinal, she faced second seed Paula Badosa and won the game 7-6, 6-4 in straight sets to advance to her maiden final in 2022.
Swiatek vs Sabalenka Head-to-Head: This will be the third meeting between both the players and their head-to-head record stands 1-1. They last met in the Doha Quarterfinal this year with Swiatek winning the game 6-2, 6-3. Swiatek once again enters the contest as the favourite.
Speaking about facing Swiatek, Sabalenka said, “That [Doha] match surprised me because [Swiatek] played super fast and super aggressive,”
“Now as she won three titles in a row, that’s not going to surprise me. I’ll be ready for this game, and I’ll be ready for a fight, I think mentally that’s going to give me a little power to compete, no matter what.”
