Harness racing selections: Tuesday, March 29

Two meetings to look at on Tuesday, with Redcliffe and Tabcorp Park Melton getting my focus. Down below are the best bets for the respective programs.

Redcliffe

Best bet: Race 4, Number 3, Dangerzone

Quality three-year-old that should prove too sharp for this lot. Beaten by the gate I thought first up at Albion Park. He then raced here where he got a gate, found the front and spanked them, winning by over 20 metres. Should find the top again and with upside to come, he wins.

Next-best: Race 1, Number 6, Jansson

I’m pretty confident this guy can get the job done. Ran over 2613m here last Tuesday where he flew off the tapes to lead before opting for cover and battled away well when second. Like him back to the 2280m, he should find the front and prove hard to get past here.

Value: Race 6, Number 1, Beast Mode

He’s worth a throw at the stumps at the odds in a tricky race. He’s had little luck with gates in recent times, but he comes up with a good barrier here via the pole. Hopefully Grant Dixon can use it to advantage and if indeed that can be the case, he’ll only run well.

Tabcorp Park Melton

Best bet: Race 2, Number 6, Unspoken Love

Confident in this mare getting the job done fresh. Kate Hargreaves trains this four-year-old who doesn’t have the best of winning strike rates, but has trialled up super in readiness for her return. Has a tricky gate to overcome, but if she does, I think she can take this out.

Next-best: Race 1, Number 1, Rock Nien

This guy can resume a winner. Four-year-old for John Justice that is first up, but has trialled up quite well leading in at the track in readiness for his return. From the pole, I think he can hold the lead and from in front, in a thin race, he’ll take beating against this lot.

Value: Race 5, Number 1, Mister Finnigan

Great each-way bet from the pole. Hasn’t had the best of draws in recent times, but he comes up with the pole here and the depth, as a whole, isn’t strong. Far from disgraced at Bendigo last time despite being $101. Maps to get a sweet run in transit and only runs well.
