Manchester City’s lead at the top of the Premier League has been reduced to just one point after Liverpool won at Arsenal.

Liverpool came from the Emirates Stadium with a fantastic 2-0 victory to set up a fascinating finale to the Premier League season.

After an even first half, Liverpool‘s class eventually showed in the second period.

Diogo Jota opened the scoring on 54 minutes before Roberto Firmino made the game safe on 62 minutes.

This result means that Liverpool are just one point behind leaders Man City.

City could only manage a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday evening.

Pep Guardiola’s side dominated the game but were unable to profit from their domination as they passed up chance after chance at Selhurst Park.

There are nine games left of the season in the Premier League and the two teams still have to go head-to head at the start of next month.

Liverpool‘s win over Arsenal also means that the race for the top-four is opened up a little more.

Arsenal had appeared to be cruising into the fourth and final Champions League place but they have to be a little careful now.

They remain in fourth, one point above Man Utd with two games in hand.

Also on Wednesday, Tottenham responded to their disappointing 3-2 defeat to Man Utd at the weekend by winning 2-0 at Brighton on Tuesday.

Cristian Romero opened the scoring with a rather fortuitous effort as Dejan Kulusevski’s shot deflected off him and into the net.

Harry Kane doubled the advantage in the second half, meaning that no player in Premier League history has scored more goals away from home.

This result takes Tottenham back up to seventh place but they have a lot of work to do if they are try and work their way back into the race for fourth place.
