Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Rasmus Sandin and forward Ondrej Kase have been ruled out of Saturday’s contest against the Vancouver Canucks, according to head coach Sheldon Keefe.
Sandin is dealing with an illness, while Kase has an upper-body injury and will undergo tests on Saturday.
With Kase out, Nick Robertson will slot alongside John Tavares and William Nylander on Toronto’s second line.

Sandin, 21, has four goals and 11 assists through 47 games in his first season as a mainstay on the Maple Leafs blue line. This will be just his third game out of the lineup in 2022.
Kase has 11 goals and 12 assists through 44 games with the Maple Leafs this season. The 26-year-old signed a one-year, $1.25-million deal with Toronto in the 2021 off-season.
