Vladimir Putin has issued a chilling warning to Great Britain for supplying weapons to Ukrainian forces as the Russian invasion enters its sixth day.

The Kremlin vowed there would be a “harsh response” for western countries found to be supporting Ukraine, with those countries “responsible for any consequences” that may arise.

On Monday, Russia placed its nuclear deterrent forces on high alert, citing frustrations with British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss.

The threat comes after it emerged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been working round the clock with Prime Minister Boris Johnson to get military hardware to Ukraine.

Mr Johnson reassured the Ukrainian President that the latest batch of weapons would be flown to Poland within “hours and days” where they would then be transferred to Ukraine.

The UK has already shipped 2,000 Next Generation Light Anti-tank Weapons to Ukraine, whilst the US, Germany, and Belgium are among other countries that have sent or are set to send weapons.
