Both the teams are just one step away from sealing a spot in the final. Islamabad United have been bosltered with the return of skipper Shadab Khan from injury. He played the first eliminator against Peshawar Zalmi. They are also strengthened by the return of Alex Hales who took a short break from the bubble life. Hales was instrumental in guiding the team to victory in the first eliminator as he smashed vital 62 runs off 49 balls.
For Lahore Qalandars, Fakhar Zaman has scored the bulk of runs. He is the highest-run scorer of this edition, having accumulated 584 runs in 10 games, that includes a century. He became only the third man to score 500 runs in a single edition of the PSL and is also the highest-run scorer in a single edition of the league. He played yet another solid knock of 63 in the qualifier against Multan Sultans. However it went in vain as the team combined to score only a total of 135 and lost the game by 28 runs.

Apart from Fakhar, the team also has Harry Brook who slammed a terrific century in this tournament. Lower down the order, David Wiese has also shined well with the bat. The other batsmen like Mohammed Hafeez, Phil Salt and Kamran Ghurram need to step up. Sometimes it looks like as if the team is over-reliant on Fakhar Zaman to deliver with the bat.
Islamabad too have the same issue as apart from Azam Khan, in the middle order, no other batsman have struck a big score. Against a bowling line-up that comprises Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf, the Islamabad batters need to step up and score big. Lahore’s bowling is however dented as they don’t have the services of Rashid Khan. The bowlers need to target Alex Hales and must try to take him out early on.
