Manchester United youngster Anthony Elanga could start in the Champions League last-16 first leg against Atletico Madrid following his impressive cameo performance against Leeds on Sunday.

Man Utd travel to the Spanish capital keen to continue their improved recent form, having won both of their games last week.

Elanga came off the bench to help United beat Leeds 4-2 on Sunday, scoring the fourth goal himself.

The teenager may now start against Atletico Madrid on the left wing, with Bruno Fernandes and in-form Jadon Sancho supporting lone frontman Cristiano Ronaldo.

Paul Pogba’s excellent performances since returning from injury should mean he begins the game at central midfield alongside Scott McTominay.

In defence, Diogo Dalot and Raphael Varane should return instead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof.

As for Atletico, they are enduring a very difficult season and are struggling to make the Champions League places in La Liga.

Luis Suarez’s poor form could see him dropped, while Yannick Carrasco, Felipe (both suspended), Daniel Wass and Matheus Cunha (both knee injuries) are all out. Antoine Griezmann is back, though.
