Liverpool will be up against it on Wednesday night, when they make the trip to northern Italy to take on Inter in their first leg of the Champions League last 16.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been counted among the favourites for the tournament, but they’ll certainly have to prove that against a much-improved Serie A team this season.
Fortunately, the Anfield boss should be able to call upon a relatively full strength team to pick from in this clash at the famous San Siro.
In defence, Klopp will likely turn to Ibrahima Konate to step in with fresh legs to replace Joel Matip and play alongside Virgil van Dijk at centre back. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson will be fit and ready to take up their roles on either flank.
Jordan Henderson picked up a nasty cut on his knee against Burnley at the weekend and despite being deemed fit enough to play, Klopp could look to rest the England international in favour of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who will come in and play alongside Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara.
There’s little doubt over in-form goal scorer Diogo Jota once again leading the line for Liverpool, with Mohamed Salah in his supporting role on the right flank. Sadio Mane is now back and fit but will most likely remain on the bench in place of new signing Luis Diaz on the left.
