Barcelona will be without Gavi for this week Europa League last-16 first leg match against Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The young Spaniard has collected three yellow cards over the Champions League group stage and the Europa League play-off against Napoli and will serve a one-match ban here, though he will be available for the second leg.

Barcelona have no new injury concerns heading into the game on Thursday, with Ansu Fati, Samuel Umtiti, Sergi Roberto and Alejandro Balde all still absent.

Dani Alves is ineligible to play in the Europa League so that will mean a starting berth for Sergino Dest at right-back.

Aside from Gavi and Alves, head coach Xavi has the same squad at his disposal that came back from behind to defeat Elche at the weekend.

Ferran Torres and Memphis Depay came off the bench to score in the 2-1 win, with the latter scoring a stupendous penalty.

Against Galatasaray, Marc-Andre ter Stegen will start in goal behind a likely back four of Dest, Gerard Pique, Ronald Araujo and Jordi Alba.

Clement Lenglet and Eric Garcia could be involved, but it is likely that Barcelona will be looking to put the tie to bed in the first leg as much as possible, as the next fixture after the second leg is the Clasico against Real Madrid.

Sergio Busquets, Pedri and Frenkie de Jong will continue as the preferred midfield three.

Xavi now has plenty of options in attack, but with Gavi missing we could see Torres restored to the starting XI alongside Ousmane Dembele and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
