Buoyant after their Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side host Norwich City in the fifth round of the FA Cup, looking to add to their 2021/22 silverware cabinet.

The Reds were victorious on penalties against Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea, but face a quick turnaround due to their tie with Norwich, who sit rock bottom of the Premier League.

However, Dean Smith’s team did knock out high-flying Wolves in the previous round of the competition, so their spirits will be high.

Nevertheless, Klopp is likely to ring in the changes in order to keep the squad fresh for the Premier League title race, which resumes against West Ham United on Saturday.

Caoimhin Kelleher, the hero in the final, was described as the “best number two [goalkeeper] in the world” by Klopp, and he’ll have the chance to live up to that billing against Norwich, when he resumes his chores as the team’s cup goalkeeper.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is likely to keep his place, mostly due to the fact that Neco Williams was loaned to Fulham in January, but Andrew Robertson will be replaced by Kostas Tsimikas on the other flank.

Ibrahima Konate will get a start, while he could be partnered by the man he replaced in the cup final, Joel Matip.

In front of them it will be a new midfield trio. James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones may all feature as Klopp rotates his preferred options.

Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi have been given plenty of chances in the domestic cup competitions this campaign, and there’s no indication that will change against Norwich, although Diogo Jota, who needs minutes to get back up to speed, will be the man alongside them.
