Witch Cupcakes for Halloween – A Beautiful Mess

0

Creating Halloween-themed treats is one of my greatest joys this time of year. Today, I’m teaching you to to make witch hat cupcakes.

They are very fun to make and adorable! I also found a kit at Walmart to make mummy cakesicles and had to try those as well.

We partnered with Walmart for this post. Their Great Value brand has so many options that can help you save money, but still make fun projects like this one! The other great thing is that you can order everything online for store pickup.

It saves so much time, and can be helpful when you have kiddos in the car to make sure you actually come home with everything from your list!

If it’s your first time using Walmart pickup, use the code TRIPLE10 to save $10 off your first three pickup or delivery orders. ($50 min. Restrictions and fees apply.)

Must be the season of the witch, friends! Let’s jump in and make witch hat cupcakes.

Directions:

Bake your cupcakes according to package ingredients. Mix the cream cheese frosting with green food dye and let it chill in the fridge.

For the witch hat, melt a pack of candy coating. I used a clean/unused paintbrush to brush the chocolate onto the cone. Once the cones are covered in chocolate, pour remaining chocolate onto parchment paper in small circles.

You want the chocolate circles to be larger than the cones opening, but only by a little bit. The perfect size is about one inch more than the cones opening.

Press the chocolate covered cones into the chocolate circles and let them dry completely. Perfect witch hats!

Tips for Making:

  • I used two different types of green icing and I was so glad to have options.
  • Dark chocolate is dark enough for the witch hats. No need to add black food coloring.
  • Black licorice Twizzlers make the perfect witch hair. I cut them into two-inch pieces.
