Fresh squeezed lemons and sweet ripe strawberries combined makes this homemade Fresh Strawberry Lemonade a next level summer drink! Say goodbye to the powdered stuff after you try this recipe.
Homemade Strawberry Lemonade
My kids love to make lemonade when the weather gets warm. I know that the powdered stuff is convenient and easy, but it does not compare to making your own with fresh ingredients. Making Homemade Strawberry Lemonade is not only fresh and absolutely delish, but it really isn’t hard at all! Fresh squeezed tart lemon juice and sweet ripe strawberries combined is a flavor combo you just can’t resist!
How to Make Fresh Strawberry Lemonade at Home
- Squeeze
Start with squeezing your lemons. To get the most juice out of each lemon, you can pop them in the microwave for about 15 seconds and then roll them on the counter to release the juices.
- Blend
Rinse and hull your strawberries. Place them in a blender with lemon juice, sugar, water, and 1/4 cup ice. Blend until smooth.
- Pour
Pour into glasses adding extra ice to each glass. Garnish with sliced strawberries and a lemon slice to be a bit more fancy. Enjoy!
Ingredients to Make Strawberry Lemonade
- Strawberries: Fresh strawberries are the key to this delicious lemonade. When they are in season they are less expensive, and full of flavor!
- Lemons: you will need about 6 medium lemons or 4 large lemons to have enough juice
- Water/Ice: enough ice for blending and then to add to each cup.
- Sweetener: I like good old cane sugar for this recipe, but feel free to use the sweetener you prefer.
- Fresh Mint: Totally optional, but makes a pretty garnish and adds a unique flavor
Tips for Making Strawberry Lemonade
If you push a straw through the strawberry from the bottom up, you can hull it and pop the stem off all in one without wasting a ton of the strawberry.
Pop your lemons in the microwave for about 15 seconds, then roll on your counter with your palm. This releases the juices and lets you get the most out of each lemon.
If you like a more slushy lemonade, add more ice when you are blending. If not, add more ice to individual glasses to make it refreshingly frosty and super cold.
If you like the flavor of limes, use 2 limes for each lemon and make limeade!
