- Yadav played one solitary Test match and 19 ODIs, the last against West Indies in 1994.
- The former India international was an important member of the Haryana team that won the Ranji Trophy in 1991.
- A few years ago, Vijay Yadav also had a car accident, in which he had narrowly survived.
- Since then he has struggled with various health issues.
- Yadav has also had two heart attacks in the past.
