1. Federico Valverde’s spinning backheel
Real Madrid’s Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde might have been at fault for City’s first goal, but besides that, he had a fairly decent game. The main highlight of Valverde’s game was in the second half when he bamboozled Ukrainian left-back Oleksander Zinchenko with a no-look backheel.

2. Vinicius Junior’s smooth nutmeg
Besides Valverde, another youngster in Vinicius Junior also displayed his box of tricks in this fixture. The Brazilian winger nutmegged his countryman Fernandinho in style and then made the move count as he scored Real Madrid’s second goal of the night. His strike left Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola in awe, as he couldn’t believe what he saw.

While Valverde and Vinicius’ efforts were impressive, the main highlight of the game was certainly Karim Benzema’ penalty. The French forward took a spotkick when his team was trailing 4-2, and despite being under immense pressure, he had the guts to go for an audacious panenka, lobbing the ball over City goalkeeper Ederson.
