Following the big news of the day that the world’s wealthiest man, Elon Musk, successfully purchased popular social media platform Twitter for a massive $44 billion, many were immediately wondering if disgraced former president Donald Trump would be returning to the platform…and he just gave an answer. Shortly after the news of Twitter’s new owner was confirmed, Donald Trump made it very clear that he still has no plans to return.
@HuffPost reports, during an interview with FOX News following the confirmation that Elon Musk was officially the new owner of Twitter, Donald Trump assured his fanbase that despite the new ownership he will not be returning—choosing instead to use his own Truth Social platform that was launched back in February. “I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on Truth,” he said, before adding that he thinks that Elon Musk will likely “make improvements” to Twitter and stated that [Musk is] a “good man, but I am going to be staying on Truth.”
Trump wasn’t done with his comments and also took the time to claim that his platform is doing better than Twitter:
“We’re taking in millions of people, and what we’re finding is that the response on Truth is much better than being on Twitter. Twitter has bots and fake accounts, and we are doing everything we can. The bottom line is, no, I am not going back to Twitter. We want liberty and justice and fairness in our country, and the more we can have open, the better. I don’t view that [Musk’s Twitter] as a competition for what I am doing.”
As we previously reported earlier today, after weeks of intense speculation, it was finally made official that Elon Musk would be the new owner of the company after purchasing it for $44 billion.
