A$AP Rocky went from a Caribbean vacay with pregnant girlfriend Rihanna to police custody in Los Angeles. As previously reported, the LAPD picked up Rocky soon after landing in the city’s international airport. Apparently, authorities arrested and booked the artist in connection to a November 2021 shooting. Within three hours of the arrest, Rocky was released from jail after paying the hefty $550,000 bond.
Officers booked Rocky at 12: 42 p.m. local time., per the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s report. He was met by law enforcement upon landing in a private plane that arrived at LAX. NBC News confirmed via law enforcement sources that Rihanna was present during the detainment.
Rihanna And A$AP Rocky Vacation In Barbados
In the last week, paparazzi photographed the couple arriving in Rih’s native home Barbados.
Rocky also shares ties to the country on his father’s side. Rihanna revealed during a Vogue interview that his father emigrated to the United States from Barbados.
“To see him in a space where he’s imagining his dad as a boy, walking the same streets as his dad walked, eating the same food as his dad ate, it was really heartwarming,” Rihanna told Vogue about their 2020 holiday visit.
Their most recent trip came shortly after a debunked rumor that A$AP Rocky stepped out on his relationship with Amina Muaddi. The fashion designer shut down the unfounded claims in a social media-issued statement on April 15.
“I’ve always believed that an unfortunate lie spread on social media doesn’t deserve any response or clarification, especially one that is so vile,” Amina wrote. I initially assumed this fake gossip –fabricated with such malicious intent– would not be taken seriously.
A$AP Rocky Named A Suspect In 2021 Shooting
Police named Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, the suspect in a November 6 shooting that happened near Vista Del Mar and Selma Avenue at 10:20 p.m. Per NBC, the alleged shooting had not been previously reported so it’s unclear what caused the situation to bubble to the surface. However, the shooting victim seems to be cooperating with police.
According to the victim’s story, A$AP Rocky and two others walked up on him on the street. Rocky then allegedly fired the gun two to three times in the victim’s direction. Only one of the bullets appears to have made contact, allegedly grazing the victim’s left hand. Police say the shooting happened after an argument escalated.
