Chasing a target of 218, KKR needed a good start. But Sunil Narine was removed on the first ball after a brilliant run-out by Shimron Hetmyer. But that didn’t dampen KKR’s spirits. Shreyas Iyer and Aaron Finch kept going at a brisk rate, bringing up a 107-run stand to stay on course to win.
After Prasidh Krishna removed Aaron Finch, Shreyas Iyer kept going, smashing 85 off 51. However, things turned upside down with Yuzvendra Chahal, bagging his first hat-trick of his career. He took the wickets of Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer and Pat Cummins in one over to bag the first fifer of the season and wrecked KKR’s backbone.
While Umesh Yadav kept hopes alive, Obed McCoy under pressure defended 13 runs off the last over, taking two wickets of Sheldon Jackson and Umesh Yadav to hand RR a famous win.

Earlier, sent to bat, Jos Buttler continued his smashing form, scoring his second century of IPL 2022. His 103 off 61 balls besides Sanju Samson’s 38 off 19 took Rajasthan Royals to 217/5, the season’s highest score so far.
Sent to bat, RR were off to a great start with Buttler and Padikkal adding 97 runs for the first wicket. While Padikkal was removed by Narine, Buttler and Sanju Samson kept going at 10 runs an over. IN the end, Buttler’s hundred and some power-hitting by Hetmyer took RR to 217/5.
