SpaceX’s Falcon 9 Launches Spy Satellites for Second Time

0

According to SpaceX, a Falcon 9 rocket launched a US surveillance satellite successfully from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX created the Falcon 9 to be the first orbital-class rocket capable of launching repeated missions in order to cut costs, and SpaceX achieved history by launching the same rocket for the second time in 2017.

According to the National Reconnaissance Office, the rocket that delivered a US security payload on Sunday was the same one that launched an NRO payload in February.

SpaceX has reused boosters and spacecraft dozens of times for satellite and cargo launches, but last year it deployed reused gear for the first time on a crewed mission, marking the first time the firm had done so.
