Chris Rock is done talking about that infamous Oscars moment – for now.

During the latest stop on his comedy tour on Friday (April 8) in Palm Springs, Calif, the 57-year-old comedian explained why he hasn’t talked more about getting smacked by Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars several weeks ago.

“I’m OK, I have a whole show and I’m not talking about that until I get paid,” Chris said on stage, according to the Desert Sun newspaper. “Life is good. I got my hearing back.”

Chris and Will, 53, made headlines several weeks ago after Chris made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith – who has alopecia – and her bald head during the awards show.

Will then hopped up on stage and smacked Chris across the face, before yelling, “Keep my wife’s name out your f–king mouth.”

Since the incident, Chris has only made a few comments about it during his comedy tour.

Just the other day, the Academy announced that Will has been banned from attending the Oscars for the next 10 years. You can read Will‘s response to the punishment here.
