Islamabad, Pakistan / TEH: A new history has been set in Pakistan. For the first time, a no-confidence motion against a Prime Minister has been successful. The no-confidence motion received 174 votes. Earlier, a no-confidence motion was filed against former prime ministers Benazir Bhutto and Shaukat Aziz, which failed.

Before voting on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser resigned from his post and left the House, handing over the panel of chairs to Ayaz Sadiq. At the same time, all the members of PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf) walked out of the house.

After the departure of Asad Qaiser, Ayaz Sadiq praised the former speaker and read out the rules of the assembly. After that, bells were rung in the National Assembly for five minutes on his orders and after that, the doors of the assembly were closed and voting started.

Before the counting of members began, Ayaz Sadiq read out the text of the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister. He then asked the members to suggest that either the meeting be adjourned and the meeting be reconvened or the voting be resumed as per the order of the Supreme Court. At the insistence of the members, he continued the same session but shortly after, a new session started at 12 o’clock in the night, reported by a correspondent of one of the digital magazines The Eastern Herald.

Pakistan Peoples’ Party National Assembly member Naveed Qamar moved a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, which was passed, after which voting began. Members of the opposition took turns attending and gathering in one side of the gallery. During the voting against Imran Khan, the opposition completed its numbers without any deviant members of PTI.
