Roommates, McDonald’s has just pleased its millions of fans by officially announcing the return of its popular Spicy Nuggets…but there’s a twist. If you’re a fan of the Spicy Nuggets, you might need to get creative in order to get your hands on them, as they won’t be available everywhere.
McDonald’s revealed that the Spicy Nuggets will only be available at about half of U.S. locations, which is about 6,900 stores, and only for a limited time. You’ll recall that McDonald’s initially unveiled the Spicy Nuggets back in 2020, making them the first new U.S. McNugget flavor since 1983 when it was initially introduced on the menu.
The McDonald’s Spicy Nuggets contain a breaded tempura coating of cayenne and chili peppers, which is more seasoned and flavorful than the traditional Chicken McNuggets.
Additionally, McDonald’s says that the Spicy Nuggets were responsible for boosting sales in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the fourth quarter of 2021, McDonald’s U.S. sales increased by 7.5%, courtesy of the fast-food chain’s increased menu prices, digital sales and fan favorite menu items, such as its Crispy Chicken sandwiches and the always popular McRib that is generally only available for a limited time.
McDonald’s is well-known for providing customers with limited-time menu items that instantly drive more interest in the company, while also going viral on social media. Earlier this month, the company announced the return of its Szechuan dipping sauce that had disappeared for a significant period of time.
