Tigers blowing up after bunker robs them of try

The Wests Tigers are blowing up after a huge bunker controversy that robbed them of a try in the first half of their game against the New Zealand Warriors in Campbelltown.

The incident came in the 18th minute when Luciano Leilua appeared to touch down a kick from Luke Brooks but referee Ziggy Przeklasa-Adamski chose not to refer the decision to the bunker, instead directing the Warriors to the 20m tap.

Later replays showed that the Tigers had a major shout that it was a try. Leilua got up convinced that he had scored and were more than a little upset that the incident wasn’t even sent upstairs.

“The bunker are claiming it’s a knock on but I didn’t see any separation,” said Steve Roach on the commentary. “The fingers are on the ball.”
