We’re kicking off the year on Wit & Delight with a topic close to my heart: personal style.
Personal style is all about how you express yourself through aesthetic choices, whether in the realm of design, fashion, beauty, or something else entirely. Having a firm grasp on your personal style means it will be easier to make these kinds of choices, without endless second-guessing along the way. I know from experience that it can be hard to nail down your personal sense of style, particularly when you’re constantly exposed to so many other people’s expressions of their style.
This month on Wit & Delight, I want to explore exactly how you can get to the bottom of your personal sense of style.
I want to write about tactical ways you can express your personal style in your home’s design, and how personal style evolves with different life phases.
My own personal style has evolved plenty throughout the years. Over time, I’ve seen that the more I stay true to my sense of style, the more joy and flow I feel throughout the design process. This has also contributed to a boost in self-confidence as I’ve learned not to care nearly as much as I once did about how other people react to my style choices. It’s been a deeply refreshing change that was a long time coming.

Beginning this month, we will be shifting our posting schedule on the blog to three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), with a possible occasional “bonus” post here and there. We will be focusing on content mostly from my voice, primarily related to design and the specific monthly theme. Each monthly theme going forward will also be more closely related to the topic of design.
For some time, I’ve been wanting to scale back the breadth of our content and focus more specifically on the intersection of design and life. As we move into a new month and year, I’m so excited to dive into this theme and this fresh approach to content.
