Holiday Home Decor 2022 | Wit & Delight

I still love the scene from The Grinch where all the Whos from Whoville are prepping for the holidays. It really is the most wonderful time of the year for decor lovers! You get to transform your space with greenery and cheerful bobbles.

Today I’m sharing our 2022 holiday home decor and a little background on how I decided to decorate this year. Enjoy!

Our 2022 Holiday Home Decor

Last year I ended up feeling a bit overwhelmed with the amount of holiday home decor I put up, so I went a little lighter this year. I opted for two trees (instead of last year’s five, including the basement) and kept the festive elements to the most used rooms in our house during this time of year.

Peach Room

This is where we hang out with friends and family in the winter. The yard looks amazing in the snow and the peach color is so pretty paired with all the greenery indoors. This year I just did one tree in the corner (instead of two) and piled garland super high on the mantel. Lots of candles, brass accents, and velvet ribbons complete the look. I think it’s my favorite holiday decor setup yet.

Green Room

We watch movies and chill as a family in this room. The kids are always up to some little game while we hang out in here so I wanted them to feel included in the decor decisions. Inspired by my mom’s Department 56 villages, I added a village setup on the mantel and shelves with the Concordville line at Terrain (not pictured here but more on this to come soon!). I also picked up some little dollhouse accessories (like packages for Santa) and the kids have loved playing with them.

For the tree, we piled on all sorts of ornaments that hold lots of happy memories but in no way match! The kids have loved looking at them and remembering when they made certain ornaments. They’ve also looked at us in awe when we tell them how old some of the ornaments are (“Thirty-nine years is like a grandma!”).

What I’m Most Excited About This Holiday Season

I’m looking forward to seeing the holidays through my kids’ eyes this year. They’re young enough to really embrace the magic and old enough to make memories. Most of my efforts will be around making sure I have time to spend with them! I’ll most likely spend less time in the kitchen and more time doing activities that include them.
