Smoked Salmon Dip – A Beautiful Mess

0

Nothing makes me feel more fancy than whipping up a delicious, restaurant-worthy appetizer or party dip at home. This smoked salmon dip totally fits the bill. While it feels dressed up and tastes amazing, it’s super easy to make.

If you want an even more simple version of this dip with a pretty presentation, try this recipe for salmon mousse. We served it at my wedding. 🙂

Smoked salmon dip is made of cream cheese, sour cream, smoked salmon, lemon juice, dill, capers, and a few optional spices (plus salt). It’s that simple!

I like to add everything bagel seasoning to the top of the dip before serving. It’s a fun presentation, and the flavors of this dip feel like something you could smear over an everything bagel.

Although, if you are thinking of lox and cream cheese bagels, I guess I should point out that lox and smoked salmon are not the same. They are similar in that they are both cured salmon, but smoked salmon has some additional flavor from the smoking process.

So, if you are shopping for ingredients, look for smoked salmon for this dip and not lox.

To prepare this smoked salmon dip, all you have to do is add all the ingredients to a food processor and blend together. That’s it! Throwing this together before hosting a party could not be easier.

How long will salmon dip last in the refrigerator?

Stored in an airtight container, you can refrigerate this dip for at least 3-5 days.

What should I serve with smoked salmon dip?

This dip goes well with breads like toasted baguette, pita chips, bagel chips, or crackers. You can also serve with vegetables like sliced bell pepper, cucumber, or carrots.

Can I freeze smoked salmon dip?

I suppose you could, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Plus, this dip is so easy to throw together that you might as well make it fresh IMO.
