It looks like Rod Wave got into some trouble while down there in Saint Petersburg, FL.
Arrest records show he was arrested and booked early Monday morning for battery by strangulation. Prior to being booked, Rod did share on his Instagram story that he had an encounter with police. Prior to coming into contact with the police, he shared that he was riding through the streets of Saint Petersburg vibing to music.
After showing that he had encountered police, he did call the situation lame and said, “That’s why I don’t even come here.”
A spokesperson for Pinellas County Sheriff’s spoke to the Tampa Bay Times and shared he was arrested on a warrant originating out of Osceola County.
He was taken into custody after midnight following a traffic stop where he was riding in the passenger seat of a 2021 Grey Dodge Durango, which is owned by him. Authorities identified him by the photo on his driver’s license. There were no further details about the arrest made available.
Last year Rodwave dropped his highly anticipated project, “Soul Fly,’ and recently it was announced his next project “Beautiful Mind,” is scheduled to drop next month.
According to XXL, in a recent video uploaded to social media, Rod said,
“I’m only here for a little longer, and when I say that I mean as in Rod Wave. I’m only here for a little minute, man. I done gave y’all straight dope, straight crack. Ain’t nobody’s f***ing with me with that pen. This sh*t not really me, man. I’m not no people person, I’m not no center of attention ass n***a, I hate attention, man. I can’t get on the internet without seeing my face or name. It’s kind of like you sold your soul, bro, ’cause you say that’s not you but for $300K it’ll be me.”
