American Idol 2022 – Sage covers Fleetwood Mac & is praised by fans after performance as singer makes it to top 20

ONE contestant on tonight’s episode of American Idol delivered nostalgia with her cover of Fleetwood Mac’s song, Rhiannon.

Lionel Richie said Sage’s performance brought him back to 1968, and Katy Perry said she reminded her of Janis Joplin.

“You carved that song out like a Halloween pumpkin,” said Katy. “You gave it a whole new shape.”

Meanwhile, fans are still reeling at the bombshell exit of one star last week.

During the Hawaii performances last week, Ryan Seacrest broke the news Kenedi Anderson had shockingly withdrawn from American Idol.

He said Kenedi left the show due to “personal reasons,” and wished the singer well.

The remaining contestants are performing tonight, as fan voting could send someone home immediately.

  • Tune in!

Tonight’s live episode of American Idol is starting now.

Tune in to ABC to find out who will make it to the next round.

  • Does every audition air on TV?

Not every audition will make it on television.

This is because there is not enough TV time to allow for all of the contestants to be featured on the show.

Those who make it through to the next round without appearing on television do face the disadvantage of lacking the exposure needed to help build up a fan base for votes later in the season.

  • How many platinum tickets were given out this season?

Only three contestants were awarded platinum tickets this season.

The tickets allowed them to bypass the first round of Hollywood Week.

  • When do contestants rehearse?

Unfortunately, contestants on American Idol do not get to relax on the weekends.

Saturdays and Sundays tend to be even busier than the weekdays, as contestants are required to do intense rehearsals.

In addition to the weekend rehearsals and sessions with vocal coaches, contestants still do three rehearsals on the day they are slated to perform.
