After being hidden for 31 years, denied for 14 years and fighting a 7-year legal battle against the highest powers, at the age of 52, artist Delphine finally won recognition. In October 2020 she became Her Royal Highness Delphine de Sax-Cobourg, Princess of Belgium, daughter of King Albert II.
Episode One: At the age of eight, Delphine and her mother are ‘banished’ to London. She doesn’t know who her father is. Prince Albert often visits as a ‘close friend’. Young Delphine feels the lies and the tension. This makes it very difficult for her at school. At seventeen, her mother tells her who her real father is. But she must keep the secret.
