Latrell limps off early for South Sydney with suspected hamstring injury

Latrell Mitchell has been withdrawn after just 14 minutes of South Sydney’s game with St George Illawarra Dragons, with early reports suggesting that it is a hamstring problem.

Mitchell was in a tackle with Aaron Woods and Tariq Sims when he pulled up, with initial fears that it was a knee problem, though that was later revised to a hamstring.

He has been receiving cortisone injections into his knee for over a week and has barely trained with the Rabbitohs.

Blake Taaffe had been included on the bench as a precaution, given the cloud hanging over Mitchell’s knee, and was brought into the game as a result.

Fox League later reported that the Bunnies and Mitchell were angered at the surface at Accord Stadium, which has recently be used for a Socceroos match and a concert.
