Australian GP: Charles Leclerc takes the pole position: It was an eventful day 2 at the Australian Grand Prix as the Qualifying session saw Charles Leclerc taking pole position after setting a lap time of 1m.17.868s. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was second after setting a lap time of 1m.18.154s followed by his teammate Sergio Perez, who finished third after setting a lap time of 1m.18.240s. Ferrari took their first pole at the Australian Grand Prix after 15 years. Charles Leclerc took his second pole of the season at the Australian Grand Prix. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished second followed by his teammate Sergio Perez. McLaren had an impactful outing as Lando Norris finished fourth. Meanwhile, Mercedes surprisingly found some pace as Lewis Hamilton finished the qualifying session in the fifth position followed by his teammate George Rusell in sixth. Daniel Ricciardo in his home race finished the qualifying session in the seventh position.

Alpine’s Esteban Ocon finished eighth in the qualifying followed by Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz in ninth. Fernando Alonso crashed in the Q3 session and finished in the tenth spot. Pierre Gasly, who drives for AlphaTauri settled for an eleventh spot. Alfa Romeo’s new signing, Valtteri Bottas finished twelfth followed by the Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda in the thirteenth spot.

The rookie driver for Alfa Romeo, Guanyu Zhou only managed a fourteenth-place finish. Mick Schumacher in his Haas settled for a fifteenth place finish. Alex Albon managed a sixteenth place finish and he will get a three-place grid penalty tomorrow. The reason being involved in a collision with Lance Stroll in Turn 1 of the 48th lap at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Kevin Magnussen in his Haas only managed to finish in the seventeenth place. Sebastian Vettel, who was out during the first two races due to Covid-19 makes a comeback at the Australian Grand Prix and settled for the eighteenth spot.

Nicholas Latifi had a crash with Lance Stroll at Turn 6 and only managed to finish in the nineteenth place. Lance Stroll was last as he had a DNF next to his name.
