Kylian Mbappé was the star of the show as Paris Saint-Germain beat Lorient 5-1 thanks to two goals from the French superstar and three more assists. PSG had failed to beat Lorient in their previous two attempts but Mauricio Pochettino was taking no chances here by starting Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar.
And it was the Brazilian superstar who opened the scoring after 12 minutes, finish off a fine team move. Mbappé was looking at his absolute best throughout the first half and doubled their lead on 28 minutes with a stunning near post finish.
Into the second half and the visitors got themselves back into the game as Terem Moffi pounced on a terrible pass from Achraf Hakimi and finished well. But Mbappé proved his worth yet again just moments later as he scored his second of the night with another fine strike.
It was the France youngster who was again at the heart of the next PSG goal, as he raced down the left and crossed for Messi. And then Neymar completed the rout with a goal in the last minute.
