ENGLAND could face one very familiar opposition in the World Cup group stages later this year.
Gareth Southgate’s side have been confirmed as one of the top seeds for Friday’s official draw, with GERMANY one potential opponent.
And a SunSport simulation has seen England fans’ worst fears realised as the Three Lions were pulled out of the hat with the four-time World Cup winners.
In what can safely be labelled the “Group of Death,” Africa Cup of Nations champions Senegal were also been pitted against Southgate and Co.
Finally South American nation Peru were the fourth and final team drawn in England’s group from the simulation.
But it’s old foes Germany who will be giving Southgate sleepless nights if the real draw goes the same way.
Hansi Flick’s side won NINE out of their ten games in qualifying, drawing the other.
And although England beat Germany in their Euro 2020 last-16 clash, it’s Germany who boast the better history on the football pitch.
The Three Lions were knocked out of the World Cup by Germany in the quarter-finals in 1970, the semi-finals in 1990 and the last-16 in 2010.
Senegal meanwhile qualified for the tournament following a penalty shootout win over Egypt on Tuesday.

In a repeat of this year’s Afcon final, Sadio Mane beat Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah on spot-kicks to book his ticket for Qatar.
Peru are yet to officially qualify for the World Cup, with the South Americans set to face either Australia or the United Arab Emirates for a place in the competition.
But they are by no mean pushovers, and earned South America’s final play-off spot ahead of Colombia.
The group stage simulation threw up some other tasty meetings, but none quiet as mouthwatering as England vs Germany.
Elsewhere five-time winners of the tournament Brazil were drawn against Denmark, Japan and Cameroon in the simulation.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal were pitted against the USA, Morocco and Ecuador, while Spain drew Uruguay, Poland and Ghana.
