Judge Dismisses Defamation Case Against Cardi B & Hennessy Carolina

0

Cardi B & her sister, Hennessey Carolina, have one less thing to worry about after a New York trial judge has dismissed a defamation, assault, and battery case against them regarding a September 2020 incident in the Hamptons. According to TMZ, Hennessy and her friends were at Smith Point Beach when things turned sour. At the beach, they ran into other beachgoers, one of whom was wearing a MAGA hat.

Three people claimed Hennessy spit on one of them, and things escalated from that point after Hennessy called the group “racist, MAGA supporters.” Although Cardi wasn’t there, she took to Twitter to defend her sister. “Nooooo, that big pink man was harassing my sister’s girlfriend to move her car for no reason, and then my sister came there had a back and forth, and they stood quite,” she tweeted. “When she whipped that phone out. They were harassing two women! Ya is going to catch the right fu**in one!”

Cardi said the group targeted Hennessey and her friend because they are Afro-Hispanic and gay. While there were a lot of accusations thrown from both parties, the judge determined the racist claims were general insults that do not rise to the level of defamation. In addition, reports state the spitting claim does not equal assault and battery. The judge said if spit shot out from Hennessy’s mouth, there was no proof whatsoever she intended to target any of the plaintiffs. It was also noted the plaintiffs never alleged that was Hennessy’s intent.

Neither of the Almánzar sisters has spoken out about the case being dismissed but has been active on social media. Hennessy celebrated Cardi’s feature on Summer Walker’s extended version of the song ‘No Love’ featuring SZA. Roommates, drop a comment and let us know your thoughts on this case.
