Arsenal host Liverpool on Wednesday evening in a crucial Premier League game for both teams.
While Arsenal are looking to regain their status as a Champions League club with a top four finish for the first time since the 2015/16 season, Liverpool are chasing the title and looking to capitalise on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City dropping points against Crystal Palace.
Both teams head into the game in immense form with Arsenal winning five on the trot, while Liverpool are unbeaten in the Premier League in 2022.
As for the team news, Mikel Arteta will mostly stick with the side that beat Leicester 2-0 at the weekend. The only possible change would be the reintroduction of Emile Smith Rowe into the starting XI. Smith Rowe came off the bench against the Foxes, but will continue his role as a super-sub, while Takehiro Tomiyasu is still out with a calf injury.
Alexandre Lacazette will continue through the middle, and will be flanked by the impressive duo of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Martin Odegaard will play just behind, and will have creative freedom.

As for Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp may have to turn elsewhere with Mohamed Salah a potential doubt. The Egyptian winger was forced off in the Reds’ win over Brighton at the weekend, and is hence likely to miss out from the start. The injury is reportedly not too serious, but Klopp has plenty of attacking options if he doesn’t feel Salah is worth risking.
In his place Sadio Mane may be shifted to the right flank in order to facilitate Diogo Jota through the middle, who will be hoping to continue his fine form against Arsenal. The former Wolves forward has already netted three times against the Gunners this season, including a double at the Emirates in the League Cup semi-final second-leg.
Thiago Alcantara could make his return to the starting XI after coming off the bench against Brighton.
