Kuwait: Masks reduced the use of cosmetics in 2021

The demand for the use of cosmetics recorded a decrease in the state of Kuwait. According to a report published by Al-Qabas daily, the use of cosmetics reduced by 8.2% in the last nine months of the year 2021.

Experts attributed the decrease in the use of cosmetics to the obligatory wearing of the masks in many places, which reduced the need to apply cosmetics.

The value of cosmetics that were imported to Kuwait during the last nine months of the year 2021 amounted to 20.7 million dinars, compared to the import of products worth 23 million in the corresponding period in 2020.

This import includes items such as cosmetics, skincare products (other than medicines), sun protection products and hand and foot care products.

Meanwhile, the statistics showed that the import of synthetic hair ‘wig’ is increased during the period from 11 million dinar previous year to about 15 million dinars.
