Real Madrid will likely be without influential midfielder Toni Kroos for Saturday’s crunch Primera Division fixture against Real Sociedad.

The German has suffered a hamstring injury and is not only a major doubt for this game, but also for Madrid’s Champions League last-16 second leg fixture versus Paris Saint-Germain.

Los Blancos are already short in midfield for that European game as Casemiro is suspended.

Madrid had to rely on a late goal from Karim Benzema to defeat Rayo Vallecano 1-0 in their last match. For that one, David Alaba was missing due to a thigh problem, and although he is close to being back to full fitness, he will likely be kept fresh for the PSG encounter.

Thibaut Courtois will start in goal against La Real.

In the back four, Nacho should continue in place of Alaba alongside Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao and Ferland Mendy.

Casemiro and Luka Modric will continue in midfield, with Federico Valverde deputising for Kroos.

In attack, Carlo Ancelotti will likely stick with Benzema, Vinicius Junior and Marca Asensio.
