Andre Walker joined GB News presenter Mark Dolan as the pair discussed the growing tensions between Ukraine and Russia. During their exchange, Mr Walker told viewers the UK and US should send troops to the region and warned failure to deal with Moscow could embolden Beijing’s efforts to annex Taiwan.

The TalkRadio presenter said: “Well, I have to say, I saw Joe Biden talking on and on and on about all of this support for Ukraine and how we all need to be in a coalition together, but also there was going to be no troops on the ground.

“I worry about this significantly because I think that China is watching what goes on in Ukraine with a view to invading Taiwan and I think that is potentially an absolute disaster.

“I think the stronger we are with Putin the better.

“And I just feel like it’s got to be boots on the ground.

“I think he’s a schoolyard bully, I don’t think he’s got the guts to attack British and American soldiers and so that’s what I would do; send troops in.”

Mr Walker’s comments come amid reports Russia has deployed around 150,000 ground forces near Ukraine’s borders.

Boris Johnson warned on Sunday morning that Moscow is planning the “biggest war in Europe since 1945”.

The Prime Minister added: “I think people need to understand the sheer cost in human life that that could entail, not just for Ukrainians but also for Russians.”

Mr Johnson welcomed the call.

According to PA, a Downing Street spokeswoman said: “The Prime Minister spoke to French President Macron tonight about the situation in Ukraine.

“They updated one another on their respective diplomatic efforts, including President Macron’s call with President Putin today.

“The Prime Minister noted that President Putin’s commitments to President Macron were a welcome sign that he might still be willing to engage in finding a diplomatic solution.

“The Prime Minister stressed that Ukraine’s voice must be central in any discussions.”
